Arshad Warsi From Tere Mere Sapne To Being Fired By Jaya Bachchan

Arshad Warsi: From 'Tere Mere Sapne' to 'Being Fired by Jaya Bachchan'

The Delicate Nature of Bollywood

WEB Arshad Warsi, known for his impeccable comic timing, has recently shared some hilarious moments from his early Bollywood days. In his recent interview with Humans Of Bombay, Warsi talked about the delicate nature of actors in the industry, where a single inappropriate word can hurt their feelings.

The 'Bakwaas' Blunder

'Tere Mere Sapne', a Bollywood debut for WEB

Warsi's Bollywood debut came in the 1996 film 'Tere Mere Sapne', produced by none other than Amitabh Bachchan. During the shooting, Warsi traveled to Mauritius, an experience he cherishes.

'Bakwaas' and the wrath of Jaya Bachchan

However, Warsi's blunt personality landed him in trouble. He had the misfortune of calling a film 'bakwaas' (rubbish) in front of Jaya Bachchan, wife of Amitabh Bachchan. Little did he know that it would lead to him being fired from the project.

In Bollywood, one is not allowed to criticize a film, as it's considered disrespectful to those involved. Warsi's innocent remark, which he claims was not meant as a criticism, cost him dearly.

The incident highlights the sensitivity that actors have towards their work and the importance of choosing words carefully.
