Formula 1 Monza Qualifiche Orari

Sainz claims pole for Monza GP, Verstappen in P2, Leclerc P3

Qualifying for the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at Monza on Saturday saw Carlos Sainz Jr. of Ferrari clinch pole position.

The Spaniard set a blistering lap time of 1:20.396, securing his first pole position of the 2023 season and the first pole for Ferrari since the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing was forced to settle for second place, just 0.062 seconds behind Sainz. The Dutchman leads the Drivers' Championship standings and will be looking to extend his lead at Monza.

Charles Leclerc of Ferrari completed the top three, 0.195 seconds behind his teammate. The Monegasque, who had won the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend, will be determined to challenge for victory at his home track.

Qualifying was held in dry conditions under a clear blue sky, with temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius. The Monza circuit is known for its long straights and high speeds, making it a challenging track for drivers.

The race will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM local time (14:00 GMT). Sainz will be looking to convert his pole position into victory, while Verstappen and Leclerc will be aiming to spoil the Ferrari party.
